TEAM COMMUNICATION
1. Introduction.
Today, team has become a key word as well as is an essential tool make success for many big companies. As you know individual working have not enough thigh knowledge and skills to make a good decision if there are not the help of others. Teamwork motivates employees work more effective and more responsible. Now, we will explore the important and impart of tem communication in socialism.
2. Definition of team
Team is a group of three or more people work together in an organization to get a common target or aim. Team occurs in many situations such as exercise in class, presentation, discussing a topic or creating a new product. To be sum up, “a team is probably a small number of different people with skills who are committed to a common purpose, performance goals, and approach for which they are mutually accountable.”(Katzenbach and Smith, 1993). 3. The stages of team development
- Stage 1. Forming
In this stage, members in a group will be worry and nervous by attitudes such as just seeing and waiting from other person. So this time, it is difficult to make a clearly decision. Moreover, they have not known why they are here and what they can do. Therefore, members need to tell each others about their detail information and special skill they get. By doing this, they will decide who can be a team leader as well as avoiding to conflict in their working. From that, team members will build a larger aim. In conclusion, during this stage everyone will have a chance to know each other well and getting ease or comfortable when they work together.
-Stage 2. Storming
In this stage, members are excited and ready to start. This time, they can ease to tell their decision. However, as you know, everybody has different thinking. So this time, members just see differences. It is easy to get conflict when people take different idea out. Maybe, some member can not suffer stresses and want to give up. For that, communication is very important in this stage, member team need to sit near together and discuss. From this, we can recognize the important behaviour way in a meeting. They must learn about impatience and listening when other ones speak. Thus this stage can help members know how to control ourselves and its importance.
-Stage 3. Norming
This stage, members have recognized that they need to work together, role of everyone. Therefore, they can see similarities than differently as well as they cited their goal. And it encourage people to get comfortable feeling and focusing on their common target. An important key factor is they are never successful without participating of other members.
-Stage 4. Performing
In this stage, after members are trained and experience to do their own problem- solving, they will step in other challenge that develop their decision. It is said that now the team is adult, so people can understand their roles and responsibilities. During this stage, members must enter their efforts into processes and it is shown off practically. The new challenge helps motivate abilities to work ourselves from everyone. In conclusion in final stage, we can see the target is focus on the production and performance. Members can show self-controlling, sensible and faithful as well as creative.
-stage 5. Adjourning
in this last stage, when the team is disbanding after a competition season or group reaches closure on tasks. probably, some members may leave the team due to a variety of reasons. therefore, the end of the season it will bring feeling of sadness as team members who had effectively become as one, are going to their different ways. it is an importunity to complete a review of what has been achieved and how you improve the experience for the next time.

it is essential to remember that every team or group will follow five stages of team development. it is the job of the team leader to help see the members through these steps and to bring them to the point where they are working as well as possible because of a common target.

Strengths-There are many new ideas. -Teams can recall information exactly. - Teams can divide a multiplicity of roles or socio- emotional task that an individual fined it hard to match. -Teams can present a wide range of skills, contributions, experiences and styles of decision making and problem solving. |
Weaknesses- Prevent decision making. Individuals can generate more new ideas than teams
- It is not always that team is good at solving the problems that require long chains of decisions and solutions. - An ineffective team allow negative role-playing to become important and even dominant. - It will make stressful towards homogeneity of styles. The fact a broad-minded individual can easily be more effective than a narrow-minded team. |
